Thomas Roby
Teacher of Humanities
Tom has Bachelor‘s degrees in History with a minor in Political Science from Clemson University in South Carolina and in Secondary Social Sciences Education from Virginia Commonwealth University. His Masters in Multidisciplinary Studies is from the State University of New York-Buffalo State.
In addition to teaching in the United States, Tom has taught at international schools in Ukraine, Armenia, Germany, Austria, and Slovakia. He has taught in a magnet school, correctional education, the IB Programme, the AP Programme, IGCSE, boarding schools, and day schools. He has taught many subjects in the Humanities or Social Sciences, along with a variety of subjects in his extensive career. In addition, he has coached youth sports, been a children’s museum educator, and has been a storyteller. At CIS, Tom teaches History & Politics at Secondary.
Tom enjoys hiking and biking with his wife Zuzana, who also teaches at Cambridge. Tom enjoys reading, doing word puzzles, and learning about other cultures.
