Robert Breedon Shepley
Teacher of Computer Science
Rob comes from Manchester in England and holds a BSc (Hons) from Leeds Polytechnic and an MSc in Information Processing from the University of York. Following his studies, Rob embarked on a 25-year career in IT, spanning two UK universities, the British Council, IBM and a startup commercial IT consultancy firm in Manchester.
In 2011, Rob and his wife decided to move abroad and secured posts in Jakarta where he became the ICT Manager for the British School Jakarta (formerly the British International School). In 2016, Rob decided to re-train as a Computer Science teacher, initially working at Epsom College in Malaysia and undertaking the Postgraduate Certificate in Education (International) from the University of Nottingham. Completing this with Distinction, Rob has since worked as Computer Science teacher in Warsaw and Hanoi; in the latter role, Rob was also Head of Computer Science.
Rob is a keen triathlete and is looking forward to spending much time outdoors exploring Slovakia. He is a PADI-certified Diver, and he loves travel, reading, cinema and cooking. Rob is passionate about working with young people and is hoping to inspire CIS students toward their own careers in Computing.
