Mark Thomas
Teacher of English
Mark joins the CIS Bratislave English department from Brisbane, Australia, where his teaching career began over 15 years ago. He completed his tertiary education at the Queensland University of Technology – Garden’s Point, obtaining a Bachelor of Creative Industries, majoring in Creative Writing and Media Production, before completing a Bachelor of Education - Postgraduate Entry, majoring in English as well as Film, Television and New Media. After graduating, Mark worked for 7 years at Wavell State High School, a school on Brisbane’s north, before he migrated to the UK, teaching English and Media at Finchley Catholic College for nearly 4 years. Following his experience in the UK, Thomas returned to Australia and took up his career at Centenary Heights High school in Toowoomba, Queensland, before returning to his first place of employment at Wavell. Thomas has been a keen player and supporter of Australian football for as long as he can remember. He also enjoys reading and writing.
