Phoebe Demetry
Year 2 Class Teacher
Phoebe holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) from the Thomas More University and a Master’s degree in Social Science from the Copenhagen Business School. Before transitioning to education, she successfully led teams in sales, marketing, and community building. Her Egyptian heritage, coupled with being born and raised in Denmark and attending international schools, all given her a unique perspective on the experiences of international and third world cultures. This background allows her to connect with students and families from diverse backgrounds and understand their unique challenges and opportunities.
With four years of teaching experience in International Baccalaureate (IB) schools and a strong background in Montessori education, Phoebe focuses on fostering collaborative skills and problem-solving mindsets in students, both in social situations and learning. She is deeply committed to trans-disciplinary and project-based learning (PBL). Her passion for PBL stems from her studies in Social Sciences, where she developed an affinity with research methodology and realized how necessary these skills are for any field. This drives her to create a solution-oriented and methodological approach in the classroom.
In her teaching practice, Phoebe emphasizes the importance of students working effectively in groups, as she believes that collaboration is key to personal and academic growth. She strives to create a classroom environment where students feel empowered to tackle real-world problems through innovative thinking and teamwork. Her goal is to equip students with the skills they need to thrive in a globalized world, fostering not only academic excellence but also social and emotional development.
