Maureen D´Arcy McCauley
Year 6 Class Teacher / Humanities Coordinator
Maureen graduated from Glasgow University with a Master of Arts in Geography and initially worked with BP. She then obtained her teaching Postgraduate certification in Primary Education and taught in Glasgow, and in Poland (as a Secondary teacher of English) before having her family.
She worked in Human Resources with Sense Scotland, a charity which supports deafblind people with complex needs. Here she obtained her Diploma in Personnel Management. As her children grew up, she returned to her passion, teaching, and taught in an inner city EAL primary school for 11 years, first as a Class and then as a Principal Teacher. In 2017, Mo moved to Dulwich College International, China, as Head of English and Primary Teacher. Her most recent post abroad was in Cambodia, at the Australian International School of Phnom Penh, an IB all-through school. In both schools Mo had the opportunity to explore different curricula, including using a project-based model to develop independent learning through inquiry.
Mo believes that children should be at the centre of their learning journey and be guided to explore, investigate, think creatively and independently. She loves reading about science as well as non-fiction in general, swimming and keeping fit, gardening, visiting museums and exploring new places.
